Our family had the pleasure of working with Nathan on building a detached studio as an addition to our family home in 2017. The studio for our family was more than just a building project. It was intended as an art studio and wellness retreat for my wife Joyce who was then recently diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic lung cancer.
Nathan’s passion for building, attention to detail and hands-on craftsman like approach have helped create a studio space that so comprehensively fulfilled our brief for it to be a high-quality built art studio and wellness retreat space. Moreover, the building itself has been crafted as a work of art that puts on a display in its own right. Building structure, surface finishes and junction details have all been put together with quality craftsmanship and care to allow the studio capable of being appreciated from so many different angles both from inside and outside.
Our family have also really appreciated the calm, courteous and caring quality Nathan possesses which he brings to the way he works. These qualities have contributed to a wonderfully creative and productive collaboration between Nathan, Simon the architect, and my wife Joyce who was an interior designer herself. I am very happy with the townhouse renovation that was built and delivered by the team at Urban Life Projects. They added a new deck and outdoor living space that is perfect for entertaining guests. They also installed new custom oak timber floors, a new interior-designed kitchen that maximizes the layout, and new carpets and wardrobes in the bedrooms. The house is now light and airy, comfortable for inner-west living. What impressed me most was their attention to detail and their hands-on approach.
